GTI Audio Amplifier Installation

This shows the first, stealth, installation of the Rockford-Fosgate T1000X5ad amplifier beneath the hatch in my 2010 VW GTI. Really neat installation, and truly stealth, but it causes the amp to overheat when played for longer periods at higher volumes, such as when taking a road trip. More access to cooling air is needed.

Can’t see anything but the subwoofer here. Pretty stealthy, eh?
Notice that there’s not enough space to the right of the amp for air flow.
From this angle, you can see that the amp is surrounded on two sides and its bottom by foam, so no air can get to it for cooling. No surprise that it overheats.
So, as a first step, I propose to cut away the foam in the red area, then relocate the amp to the blue area, which will provide at least the minimum space for air around the amp.
Trouble is, the space will still be enclosed by the floor panel, so the air is likely to get too hot and stay that way. Access to a flow of cool air will undoubtedly be necessary.
